Exhibition of Works of the 8th Children and Youth Competition The Heirs of Danila-Master

The eighth time in the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts annual exhibition of works by the participants of the Children-Youth Jewelry and Stone-Cutting Art Competition The Heirs of Danila-Master will take place.

This is a joint project of the initiator and organizer of the event of the Mineral Show company and the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, the main partner and the main exhibition venue of the competition. It is aimed at supporting young masters and is intended to contribute to the development of the creative potential of its participants through the preservation of the traditions of the Ural jewelry and stone-cutting art. Exhibiting competitive works within the walls of the classical museum is a rare opportunity for beginning authors, representatives of the new generation of talented young people, to compare their achievements with the standard works of the Ural school of stone-cutting and jewelry art.

From year to year the number of submitted works grows, the geography of the project expands. This year more than 150 works of young stone cutters and jewelers from Ekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Perm, Miass, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Tagil, Polevskoi, Kamensk-Uralsky and Berezovsky will be presented to the audience and jury.

A good tradition of the competition is the Audience Choice Award. Its owner is determined on the basis of audience voting: during the exhibition, each visitor can express his support for any of the works presented by dropping the completed newsletter in a special ballot box.

The exhibition will be available at the museum from April 6 to June 1, 2019. Solemn rewarding of laureates, winners and their leaders will be held traditionally on the Children's Day, on 1st of June.

The curator of the exhibition is Lyudmila Budrina, Associate Professor of the Department of Art History and Museum Studies at Ural Federal University.
